Prof. Chao Song, a Seismic Wave Analysis Group alumni, will be receiving the 2024 SEG J. Clarence Karcher Award. ​

The SEG J. Clarence Karcher Award is awarded in recognition of significant contributions to the science and technology of exploration geophysics by a young geophysicist of outstanding abilities who merits such recognition.

Chao received his PhD from KAUST in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Tariq Alkhalifah. Today he is a Professor of Geophysics in Jilin University, China.
